20 Reasons The Limit To “Mean Girls” Does Not Exist

Despite Lindsay Lohan’s downward spiral and the fact that this movie is now over ten years old, “Mean Girls” is still very much a part of popular culture. And deservedly so.

Here are 20 reasons that “Mean Girls” is still around.

20. The Characters:

It’s no doubt that this film has some of the most recognizable characters in cinema. I mean seriously, who doesn’t know Regina George? And don’t even get me started on Glen Coco.

19. The Casting:

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler kill it in this one, but it doesn’t stop there. Rachel McAdams, Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Seyfried, Tim Meadows, the list goes on and on. Casting in this film is impeccable, and who knows if it would be nearly as good with a different cast.

18. Celebrity References:

And what else could make this film more popular than the fact that our favorite celebrities are also fans? Jennifer Lawrence loves it so much she brought it up in an acceptance speech; that should be all the reason you need right there.

17. The Female Comparison To Animals:

We’ve all known for a while now that women are like animals. Sorry Maroon 5, “Mean Girls” beat you to the punch.

16. The Best Dumb Blonde You’ll Ever See:

Karen is more than just your average dumb blonde; she’s absolutely perfect. Amanda Seyfried will forever go down in history as the actress that played the best dumb blonde you’ve ever seen.

15. The Burn Book:

And what “Mean Girls” list would be complete without mention of the burn book? It’s the perfect tool to single-handedly define the most embarrassing aspects of every person in high school. It’s fantastic.

14. Realistic High School Students:

We don’t all go to school with people that look like Zac Efron. I’m sorry, we just don’t. It’s about time a movie picked out some realistic, albeit extremely weird, high school students.

13. The Talent Show Scene:

High school talent shows are a place to embarrass yourself completely, and “Mean Girls” knows it.

12. The Struggles Of Popularity:

High school girls crave it more than anyone else. Just ask Gretchen Wieners.

11. The Made-Up Words:

Admit it, you’ve used it multiple times since this movie’s release. Sorry Regina, looks like it happened.

10. It Finally Called Halloween Out For What It Is:

Thank you!

9. The Rules Of Girl World:

Yes, women are crazy. No, they are not this crazy. I mean really, sweatpants are life.

8. It Brought Bullying To Light First:

Way to go Janis! There really isn’t a better anti-bullying movie out there, so stop with the infomercials and just stick “Mean Girls” in the DVD player at the next assembly. You’re welcome.

7. The Push For Feminism:

How could this not mention feminism while Tina Fey’s involved?

6. Its Fantastic Take On Homosexuality:

And thus we are given the classic religion vs. homosexuality debates. No movie is really complete without it.

5. The Discussion Of Real Problems:

Hey, maybe it’s not exactly the most pressing of issues, but “Mean Girls” made sure to bring it up. It should be commended for that.

4. The Incredible Use Of Stereotypes:

Ah, stereotypes. Our love/hate relationship is ongoing. But in “Mean Girls,” we just keep asking for more.

3. The Plastics:

Of course, “Mean Girls” relies heavily on the plastics, and how could it not? They’re fantastic.

2. The Amazing Advice:

I don’t think it’s possible to get better advice.

1. The One-Liners:

And last, but certainly not least, there are the “Mean Girls” one liners. Clever, funny and too true; the perfect combination.

Let’s just face it: “Mean Girls” is the best thing that ever happened to us. Here’s to hoping it never dies out!
