20 Things To Do To Get Through A Break Up

We all have been through at least one or more break-ups in our time. No matter how long the relationship, or the “talking”, or the hooking up was, we’ve all been dumped or have dumped someone. And naturally you will miss that person who broke your heart, but here are some ways to get through that pain… BESIDES going out and getting drunk (because we all know that could end up bad)

20. Hangout With Close Friends- Surround yourself by people you hangout with on a daily basis, have fun and just talk about life, watch movies, and play games. Your friends make you just as happy as a significant other! And they’re a great advice system.

19. Listen To Music- Music changes your mood, that is all. Listen to something happy and just sing!

18. Dance- Use all your energy by getting all your anger and sadness out by goofing around for a little while!

17. Cook/Bake- Cooking a yummy meal with a new cupcake recipe will get your mind off of everything… THEN YOU CAN EAT EVERYTHING IN SIGHT! (without feeling guilty about it)

16. Work- MAKE MONEY!! Saving up money to spoil yourself is awesome, and working hard will make you feel great and accomplished.

15. Go Shopping- Spoil yourself for a day! Buy that new pair of sneakers you wanted at Champs or that new dress at Forever 21.

14. Focus On Schoolwork- Get your schoolwork done for the week or weekend, study if you have a test! Your grades are more important than being depressed in bed all day… Get motivated!

13. Go On An Adventure With Friends- Go hiking, snowboarding, or drive somewhere you’ve never been before with your close friends. Make new memories and take a lot of pictures!

12. Hangout With Family- Your family will always be there for you no matter what, spend some quality time with them and share old stories. Get advice from an older sibling, or watch some TV.

11. Eat Candy… Or A lot Of Chocolate- Candy makes you feel good, don’t have any shame! Eat a whole bag of chocolate.. No one will judge you.

10. Take A Bubble Bath- Take a hot relaxing bubble bath, light some candles, have some wine and you’re set!

9. Play Video Games- Get some of your pals together and play some NBA or COD til 1 am (because guys go through break ups too)

8. Read- Start a new book, or buy one. Reading relaxes and calms your mind.

7. Workout- Go running or to the gym! Work on your fitness and feeling better about yourself, get your booty in shape!

6. Binge Watch A New Show On Netflix- There are so many shows on Netflix you can easily get addicted to! Find one, press play, get some popcorn, and ta da! ( May I suggest Dexter, Friends, Blue Mountain State, The 100, and Californication)

5. Get Organized- Plan out your day, week, or month! Focus on yourself and what makes you happy and feel good! It’s all about YOU now!

4. Watch YouTube Videos- Goof around and find some funny videos, they will cheer you right up!

3. Eat Some Ben & Jerrys- I know it’s obvious but ice cream heals your heart.

2. Mix A CD Or Playlist- Get all your top favorite songs, put them onto one CD or playlist and keep it on repeat.

1. Go On A Drive- Go alone, or bring a friend, and that CD that you just made! Jam out, sing your heart out and drive until you get lost!
