8 Reasons Why Professors Should Offer Extra Credit In Class

Extra credit can often be a blessing in disguise. If you’ve ever tackled a school subject that you weren’t prepared for, you understand. The great thing is that extra credit is like your second chance to prove that you are worthy of graduating. Unfortunately the opportunity to get extra credit isn’t offered much in college. Here’s why more professors should give a kid a break.

Some professors love being creative when they give second chances. This could mean an opportunity that puts you in the right place at the right time and miraculous things could happen. Just saying.

6. If you’re passionate enough, your professor may see it as an easier alternative to educating the entire class.

If your professor sees that the extra credit could benefit everyone, he or she just may change their method of teaching altogether. Life could be so much easier.

5. Since your worth is being determined by letters and numbers, you should, at least, have some fun.

Extra credit is usually “fun” homework, so you may as well enjoy it while you can. It’s an opportunity to showcase your brilliance in your own way. Your professor could be so impressed that you may just pass the class with no extra effort. Just kidding. You’ll still have to work to get out of there.
