Adventures To Go On With Your Bros In Texas

The Lone Star State. The great state of Texas is 268,581 square miles. It’s a state filled with populous cities, rural towns, and arid deserts all within the confines of one state! Since Texas is home to so many different things, there are an endless number of activities you and your squad can do to have a good time.

10. Go Watch An Odessa Permian High School Football Game

Have you ever seen the movie Friday Night Lights, which was based on the Permian Panthers football team? If not, it’s a must-see. If you haven’t, here’s a rundown of their high school football experience. Men, women, and children pose for pictures and ask for autographs of starters on the team.  The entire town shuts down. I don’t mean a couple of stores are closed and most of the town attends their games. I mean the entire town shuts down, as in every single light in town is turned off except for the stadium lights, and every single inhabitant of Odessa goes to the games and yells their hearts out for their team. It’s unlike anything else you’ve ever seen, when it comes to high school football. Who doesn’t love good football?

9. Climb the Enchanted Rock

Located in Fredericksburg, Texas, the Enchanted Rock is way bigger than a plain, old rock. It’s only the largest piece of pink granite in the entire United States of America. You can hike, rock climb, and picnic, or just stand there in awe of its vast beauty.

8. Check Out The Fort Worth Stockyards

Most people who haven’t been to Texas assume it’s the Wild, Wild West filled with cowboys, horses, and cacti. However, that’s not the case in more than a few places in Texas. Most of Fort Worth isn’t even like that, but a little slice of Fort Worth certainly maintains that historical cowtown vibe. Every day at 4 p.m., there’s a cattle drive where the last-standing, real-life cowboys lead their cattle through the stockyards. It’s just a place where time stands still. These guys are the original bros.

7.  Spend A Day at the Beaches of South Padre Island

South Padre Island is located on the east coast of Texas, right next to the Gulf of Mexico. It’s one of the few places in the dried out sauna that is Texas where you can enjoy some breath-taking blue water and soft sand.

6. Visit the Texas State Fair

You’ve never seen more fried food in your life. They have the usual corny dogs and funnel cakes but also fried Oreos, fried Reese’s, fried cookie dough, and fried Coca-Cola. I have no idea how they fry liquid, but they do it. Taking a group picture in front of Big Tex is a must, as well as riding the Texas Star Ferris Wheel, the continent’s biggest ferris wheel.
