FRESNO, Calif. — While many college students catch grief for being glued to their smartphones, a California student says he owes his life to his iPhone.
The Fresno State graduate student was walking to his apartment Monday night when a man walked up to him and grabbed his computer bag, according to KSEE News. When the student resisted, the man pulled out a gun, shot him in the leg and made off with the computer bag.
Soon after the student’s roommate, Faris Alotaibi, heard a knock on the door.
“He was shocked and sweating,” Alotaibi told KSEE. “He said, ‘I got mugged, and the person who mugged me shot me in the leg.'”
