Thank goodness the format and concept of American Idol was adapted to other talents and other shows in general. Once the popular show ended the public was concerned a lot of good talent would go undiscovered.

Hidden Remote

America’s Got Talent has been on TV since 2006 and in the 14 seasons it’s been on air we have seen many people come and go. A lot of them stand out above the rest for being extraordinary people with amazing talent. It’s amazing what the development of the cellphone camera has done to society. In the old days when there were no smartphones, it was difficult to capture live events to show others unless you happened to have a video camera. However, that’s not the case today, which is why the visual image has become such a powerful tool in the hands of an individual.

There is little doubt that the recent incident on the United Airlines flight in which a passenger was physically dragged off the plane would have received the kind of attention it did if the events had not been videotaped and shared on social media.

All of this to say that social media has become an equalizer for people who feel that their voices have not been heard… and that’s definitely the case for Tamika Cross, an OBGYN who was on a Delta Flight recently and rushed to give first aid to a man in distress on her flight…

Westminster College student Connor Cox’s mother may win the award of “Pettiest Mom Alive” after she pulled this stunt…

Like most college students, when Connor Cox received a package from his mom, he assumed it would be a care package, boy was he wrong.

According to WTOP News (the ABC Maryland Affiliate):

“I got two boxes and I opened one and it had food in it and I realized there wasn’t food in the other one,” Cox, 18, told ABC News. “It was a bunch of trash, tissues [and] soda cans.”

Cox, who is originally from Leonardtown, Maryland, immediately called his mother Terri to ask what was with the box of trash.

“[I said] ‘Did you send me the wrong package? Why did you send me this?’” Cox said.

“[She said,] ‘No, that’s the trash you were supposed to take out,’” he added, laughing.

Cox, who is studying criminal justice, said he laughed hysterically about the gag gift, then tweeted a photo of the package, which quickly went viral.

The college student said he wasn’t surprised that his mom pranked him.

“She has a good sense of humor,” Cox said. “She’s always really caring and she knows what to say at the exact time she should say it. She’s a good mom.”

Cox, who has three sisters, added that he has a rather unique relationship with his mom.

“It’s not a normal mom-son relationship,” he described. “She’s kind of like my best friend … it’s special for sure.”
