Crazy Company Introduces Beer “For Women” And Twitter Is Losing It

A brewery in Czech recently launched a product they assumed would be hot off the shelves but were met with a big surprise when people from around the globe weren’t too happy with their angle. The brewery launched a new product with the hashtag #beerforwomen and uh, both women and men pointed out that women don’t need a “special” beer”…

…and implying anyone does is a little more than sexist. People had no issues taking to Twitter and demolishing the brand. The brewery is definitely a hot topic but not for the right reasons. But there are some out there who don’t see anything wrong with marketing to women as beer is marketed to men all the time but we’re not going to feature those people…

The imagery of the entire campaign didn’t exactly help the brand’s cause either. It was a bunch of flowers, Melania-type looking models and lots of pastel colors. What else doesn’t help the cause? The bottle coming in a pink bottle an WTF?!-explanation reading “born to prove that women can succeed anywhere without having to adapt and sacrifice their natural femininity.” […]

It gets worse. On their website it also states “Aurosa is a representation of a woman’s strength and a girl’s tenderness. The two contrasting tempers, present in female essence, are depicted through the elegant design yet the strong, unfiltered taste.” -cue more Twitter trolling-

Is anyone ready for a tall, cold glass of truth? For both men and women? Yes please. The Industrial Revolution did turn brewing into a male-dominated industry. And according to a number of poll about a quarter of American women named beer as their favorite alcoholic beverage compared with about 54% men.
