1. Move Forward– An easy way to ruin a good relationship is to be stuck in reverse. Everyone makes mistakes, but that doesn’t mean you have to stay focused on the past. A good goal is to find a solution and keep moving forward.

2. Personal Time– Even if you’re in a long term, committed relationship, that doesn’t mean you’re attached at the hip. You’re both allowed to do your own thing. You’ll be more likely to appreciate your time together, if you have time apart.

3. Trust– A relationship can never be healthy if there is no trust. You should be comfortable with your significant other, going about their life. You shouldn’t have to constantly worry about what they are doing or who they are with.

4. Communication– Common sayings during disagreements are “It’s fine” or “Whatever”, even when it’s really not fine. A solution will never come about from shutting down and not talking it out. Both sides have to be willing to put it all out there and come up with a mutual compromise.

5. Support– One of the greatest parts of being in a relationship is knowing you always have someone you can turn to. In a pinch, you’ll have help and support from someone that you trust.

6. Inspire-Having another person rely on you can push you to do greater things. You’ll always have each other for inspiration and someone to encourage you to be the best you can be.

7. Comfortable With Yourself– Being with the right person comes with never feeling that you have to change anything about yourself. You’re your own person, even if that person has differences from your significant other. That’s maybe why you got along in the first place, too many similarities may be a bad thing.

8. Fight Towards A Solution– No healthy relationship will be perfect all the time. There will be arguments and disagreements, and that is okay. You just need to remember you’re not fighting to win the argument, you have to be willing to come to a solution at the end of the fight.

9. Cherish Your Time Together– Even if you’re far past the honeymoon stage, you shouldn’t take your time together for granted. It’s easy to get lost in time, with one day rolling into the next. Try to appreciate your time together, even if it’s something small like going to the movies.

10. Accept Flaws– No one is perfect and if you think anyone is, they were probably airbrushed or edited. Everyone has flaws, whether they are major or minor. You shouldn’t stress yourself to try and be perfect and you shouldn’t expect the other to be either. You should accept the other the way they are.
