10 Pros and Cons of Being the Middle Child

10. Pro: You always have someone older to ask for advice.
Con: Your older sibling just happens to erase all memories of when they were your age so they’re essentially no help.

9. Pro: You always have someone to offer advice to so that you feel like you’re being a good sibling. Even if it’s the worst advice in the world.

Con: You don’t want them to realize you never did what you’re telling them to do.

8. Pro: Your parents realize that they left you in the dust and then try to make up for it, kinda like the way the Dursleys handled things.

Con: Your parents realize just a little bit too late that they left you in the dust and try to parent you again at an age that doesn’t really apply.

7. Pro: A stereotypical middle child is usually more determined and driven, and that’s what you are.

Con: You have to do better than BOTH your siblings to be noticed, because in general you have to upstage the older one, and if the younger one is “better”, well you’re really just screwed.

6. Pro: You had someone to look up to all the time.

Con: Your little sibling(s) copied you in your clothing, the way you talked, things you liked. Isn’t it a compliment, though? Plus, they were probably adorable until they started talking.
