10 Reasons Hofstra Students Love McHebes

Hofstra University located on Long Island, is home to more than 10 thousand students; this being the largest private school in the area. Although most of these students are typically recognized for their academic achievements, they know how to party. With the Hofstra strip right around the corner, you can find students at a few different bars on the weekend. One bar in particular stands out amongst the rest- McHebes. Here are the 10 reasons why Hofstra students love this bar.

10. It’s right down the street from campus

McHebes is conveniently located only about a mile away from Hofstra University, therefore making it a popular spot for young college students to let lose on the weekends. Even when the north eastern climate hits all time lows, you’ll see the religious (and brave) attenders of Ladies Night or Happy Hour running towards the bar as soon as it opens for the evening.

9. All familiar faces as soon as you step in

Being a college bar, most of the attenders of McHebes are Hofstra students, and these students are die hard fans, they go every week no matter what. As soon as you walk into the bar you’ll look to your left and see most of the guys from your favorite fraternity or all the girls from down the hall drinking and dancing the night away.

8. The ridiculous advertisements they post

One of the humorous parts of this local bar is the posters that flood your Facebook and Instagram feeds. These posts typically include key phrases such as “Girls Be Like” or “Fireball Fridays” along with photos of scandalously dressed women (because they totally will be there too).

7. Their $5 pitchers during Happy Hour

If you’re running low on funds and still want to have a good time, have no fear-you can drink a ton of beer for only $5 during Happy Hour.

6. Its close relation to food (Campus Pizza, Popeyes, etc.)

After a long night of drinking, the idea of greasy, fattening food sounds clutch. Thankfully Mchebes is located near a ton of fast-food places. If you walk into Campus Pizza or Popeyes on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday late night you’ll see a ton of hammered students feasting on garlic knots or fried chicken.
