As independent girls we know who we are and what we want, but sometimes our independence can cause us to be stubborn or too independent. When it comes to relationships we may forget that we aren’t just thinking about ourselves anymore or that we have someone there for us who wants to stay by our side through it all. We can be a pain in the ass, but we promise it’ll be worth it in the end, so here are 10 things to know about dating an independent girl.
10. We will always put ourselves first when it comes to certain things. When it comes to our thoughts, feelings, mental health, physical health, etc. we will always put ourselves first. If at any time we feel like we’re losing who we are or we start to lose touch of who we are, we may put the relationship on hold. We’re not in any way blaming you, but we won’t be able to continue the relationship until we figure out what’s going on with ourselves first. We can’t expect you to like/love us if we don’t.
9. If things just aren’t working out anymore we aren’t afraid to call it quits. We’ll try and fix things or work through the problems at first, but after a while we’ll get tired of it and just let go. We may love being in a relationship and we may love all of the good things that come out of it, but we aren’t the type of people to hold onto something that just isn’t working out. Things may have been great between us at first, but if it’s time to move on then we’ll do it with our heads held high because we know some things just aren’t meant to be.
8. We don’t like to feel like we’re living off of you. We like to spoil ourselves because we like that we worked hard to earn what we have, so we’ll probably fight you about who’s going to pay the bill a few times. We’ll love the things you buy us, but at the same time we won’t let you always buy everything for us. We’ll still appreciate everything you do for us and buy for us, but we won’t like it if we start to feel like we’re relying on you for everything.
