5. Thanks for being there when nobody else was
Sometimes there’s just times when you feel like you have absolutely nobody in the world but yourself. With you, that was never a thing. Whenever anything went wrong, you were my go to. When the world felt like it was crumbling down with me underneath you were ready to go down with me. You always understood everything and always knew what to say when nobody else did.
4. Thanks for always telling me when I’m about to do something stupid and sometimes still letting me do it anyway
As my best friend you know me better than anyone else in the world, and with that being said, you know half the things I do are really stupid. You never fail to tell me when I’m about to do one of those things, which was always appreciated. Most of the time, though, thanks for letting me do them and being by my side when it backfired.
3. Thanks for always being down to eat a tub of cookie dough and watch movies instead of going out
This is more than a once in a while occurrence with us, which is probably why we don’t have a life other than each other. Ever since we were little this was always one of our favorite things to do and it will never get old. Whether it was to mend a broken heart or just because we were too lazy to get ourselves together and be social (or skinny), shoving our faces and cuddling up for a good movie always seemed like the better option.
2. Thanks for having the same sense of humor as me
I have to admit sometimes I think I’m a lot funnier than I actually am, but you never let me think that. You’re always the first to laugh at my jokes when to everyone else it makes absolutely no sense. Sometimes, it’s actually quite unnecessary and concerning how funny we think the other are, but nonetheless I can always count on you to laugh until your stomach hurts at something dumb I said.
1. Thanks for never leaving
Since pre-k, you’ve been my best friend. Most people aren’t as lucky to still say that 18 years later. Thank you for always being there, for knowing me better than I know myself, and for being my absolute best friend. You’ll never know how lucky you are to have one of these friends, and if you’re lucky enough to keep them around for this long, definitely never let them go.
