11 Spinoff TV Shows You Don’t Remember (Or Don’t Want To)

Every now and then there comes a show that is so well liked by audiences that networks decide to give one of the beloved characters their own show, but spinoffs can be hit and miss to say the least. Spinoffs like Saved By The Bell, The Simpsons, & Frasier became hits in their own right; but for every good spinoff TV series, there is one that either gets forgotten by time or is just hated in general. Often times when these spinoff series sully the name of a TV show we know and love, we try to forget they even happened….But I think it is high time we are reminded that these shows existed!

11.) Joey

Friends took the sitcom world by storm when it first came on in 1994, and the show did so well that it lasted for 10 long years! Viewers tuned in week after week to see a group of friends who were there for each other, no matter what life threw at them. After the show ended network executives decided that a spinoff was to be made starring Mat Leblanc as his original character from Friends, called Joey. In the show Joey leaves for Hollywood to pursue his acting career full time and rooms up with his rocket scientist nephew. What was the show lacking? Was it an awesome original intro song? A group of loving friends? Or any semblance of comedy whatsoever? The answer is all of the above.

10.) The Pauly D Project

Love it or hate it, Jersey Shore was a hit. Following the typical formula for hit reality shows, Jersey Shore took a group of young people, loaded them with alcohol, and filmed them while they partied and argued with one another. Unsurprisingly this was a load of fun for everyone involved, but one member of the house wanted to be known for more than GTL and hair gel; Pauly D wanted to be taken seriously as a DJ. To make that happen, Pauly D did what anyone who wanted to escape their reality show persona would do…by starring in another reality show?

9.) That 80’s Show

I don’t know you, but I am willing to bet you love That 70’s Show. I am also willing to bet you don’t even remember that That 80’s Show exists. The show centers around struggling musician Corey Howard and his friends as they face the perils associated with being young adults in the 80’s. Corey is meant to be Eric Foreman’s cousin in the show but outside of that nothing is mentioned from the That 70’s Show universe. To be honest I don’t know if this was even necessarily a bad show, but it definitely falls under the “no one remembers it existed” category.
