6. If they could give you anything in the world, they would in a heartbeat
From those shoes that you want, the tuition to your dream school, to a kidney. If they could, your parents would give you all.
5. They only want to see you succeed
And they will do anything in their power to make that happen and guide you in the right direction.
4. Yes parents occasionally make mistakes, but they are human just like us
We make mistakes, too. Remember, nobody is perfect.
3. When you are a parent one day, you will realize why they made certain choices as parents
And one day, everything will make sense: why your parents scolded you, why your parents didn’t let you drink caffeine after four, those rules you hated, etc.
2. A majority of what your parent’s do is done with you in mind
For example, when they work late, they are probably doing it for you. Like it was said, they will do anything in their power to make sure that you are safe, healthy, and happy.
When I was in kindergarten, we had a day where you would paint a pillowcase with your parents. One of the parent’s brought in cookies for everyone, and there was enough so everybody would get one. My mom knew how much I wanted another cookie, and she gave her cookie to me. At that time, I probably didn’t even say thank you; most likely, I just gobbled down the cookie without any second thoughts. Today, I understand while it was only a cookie, she sacrificed that cookie’s deliciousness to make me happy. Even the little things like this matter.
Get up and go give your parents a hug, or a call, and let them know how much you love them.
