9.) “Yo soy la princesa, comprende mis white lines,”
– Ultraviolence
Many of Lana’s songs are bilingual, and this is no exception. The Spanish sounds so right with her voice, and “I am the princess, understand my white lines,” is the epitome of Lana’s life. She knows she is special, and if someone doesn’t understand her lifestyle (white lines referring to cocaine and the fast life) she doesn’t need them.
8.) “Be young, be dope, be proud, like an American,”
– American
Lana’s definition of being American is pretty accurate. In America, we idolize youth, drugs, and pride. Our culture today suggests that to be American, these are your priorities and Lana can see that corrupted America that’s hidden to the common eye.
7.) “My pussy tastes like Pepsi Cola”
– Cola
Promoting her sexuality, she wants to lure the men in her life to come taste her, because why not god damn it? She tastes like Pepsi and everyone loves Pepsi (or coke, honestly the same thing). Her bluntness and openness about her sexual fantasies is what keeps her fans loving her.
6.) “You fit me better than my favorite sweater,”
– Blue Jeans
Singing about one of her lovers again, she talks of him fitting her like nothing else. He is her favorite because they go so well together and we can relate to someone coming into our life and just clicking with them. They’re our favorite sweater that keeps us warm and it’s a nice feeling to have.
