15 Principles of Party Etiquette All Students Should Know 2

10. Don’t Get Sick

While we know that no one plans on getting so drunk that they vomit at the party, you should be familiar enough with your limits to make sure that doesn’t happen. It kind of kills the mood.

9. Don’t Get Clumsy

Drinking doesn’t enhance anyone’s fine motor skills, but if you’re at the point where you’re stumbling through the party like it’s your own personal mosh pit, you may want to cut back. You are definitely bothering people.

8. Don’t Criticize The Party

Campuses and their surrounding areas will always offer students ways in which to have a good time. If you’re at a party you’re not enjoying, find something else to do. Don’t be the moody guy who is complaining.

7. Don’t Make Everything A Competition

Some people just can’t put aside their competitive nature, but there’s a time and place for it. See someone chatting with an attractive girl? Suddenly you feel the need to win her over first. Game of beer pong going on? Now you need to be the champ.

It doesn’t make a good impression, it just makes you look immature. Because you are.

6. Don’t Be Sad

You’re not going to be happy at every party you attend. Sometimes, things will be going on in your life that have got you down. You should definitely find some friends to talk to about this, but you shouldn’t do so in in a crowded room full of people who aren’t prepared to handle that. You won’t get good advice, and they won’t know what to do.
