15 Things Only Psychology Majors Understand
Being a psych major is all about understanding the human mind and behavior. Check out this list of 15 things that only psychology majors would understand.

Psychology comes in at number seven of the top ten college majors in a survey by Princeton Review. If you’re a psychology major, like me, then you probably know these things very well.

15. People always want to know what you’re doing with your degree. – I honestly have no idea what I’m going to do with a psychology degree, but I’m very passionate about psychology. Maybe I’ll get my doctorate one day.

14. Your friends always come to you with their problems. – We all have that one friend that just gets us and always seems to know how to solve problems. That friend is most likely a psych major, and being a psych major makes your friends think that you are suddenly a therapist that they can tell their deepest secrets and problems to.

13. Sigmund Freud is your bestie. – Freud was an Austrian neurologists and also the “father of psychoanalysis.” I’m not hear to teach you about him, but psych majors know him very well…very well!

12. After the first semester of psychology you are analyzing everyone you come in contact with. – All psych majors do this and if they tell you they don’t then they are lying. We all think we know everything there is to know about psychology, and what disorders people have, so we psychoanalyze our family, friends, pets, and even ourselves.

11. Phineas Gage is quite interesting. – If you don’t know Phineas Gage he was a man that had a 3-foot rod go through his skull; in his left cheek and out the right/center of his brain. The rod came out through his frontal lobe which changed his whole personality, but he survived and recovered completely.

10. Your friends don’t understand the books you read. – Before I graduated high school I was reading Freud’s “Interpretation of Dreams.” When I wasn’t reading the book it sat on my desk in class and my friends and classmates passed by and gave me these weird looks, but then they asked me to tell them what their dreams meant.
