5 Benefits Of Living Off-Campus

1. No RA. This covers a lot of things that are life changing about living off-campus. For one, you don’t have to sign-in your friends every time they come to visit you in your dorm, you don’t have mandatory meetings to attend, and there’s no person of authority living in your building. The greatest perk of not having an RA is obviously that you can drink whenever you want and no one can tell you otherwise.

2. Bathroom. Sharing a bathroom with an entire floor of strangers is not something that anyone wants to do. Having the luxury of a personal bathroom to yourself and your roommates makes things a little less ratchet.

3. Closer to parties. Everyone knows that the off-campus areas at college are where you’ll find all of the parties. Living just steps away from parties becomes more convenient especially after a long night of chugging Traveler’s Club and possibly puking.

4. Kitchen. Ahhh, the benefits of not having to go to the nasty dining hall for each and every meal. This especially becomes useful in the colder months when you don’t want to take the hike to the dining hall and you can make the food that you want right in the comfort of your own home. And hey, if you’re in the mood to whip up some special brownies, the oven is right there.

5. No restrictions. The on-campus life comes with many restrictions including fire codes, safety codes, mandatory fire drills, quiet hours, and guest policies. When signing the lease to your off-campus housing, you’re also signing the paper that practically says you can do anything you want as long as you don’t burn the place down. So if you’re not already living off-campus, get on it now!
