6 Things That Happen When Your Jealousy Peaks

You know that feeling you get when you see another guy trying to hit up your girlfriend? Or that slight sense of anger that comes over you when you see another girl commenting hearts and kissy emojis under your boyfriends IG pics? How about the times you feel some type of way when you see your best friend hanging out and having a blast with someone else?  That nearly indescribable, sometimes irrational, emotion you feel is called jealousy. It happens to all of us, and none of us are proud of it. It can range from a slight sting, to the feeling as if just got kicked in the stomach. Here are six things that tend to happen when we feel jealousy below:

6) You start checking social media even more often than you already do. You start opening Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, etc. pretty frequently. You may find yourself “casually” reloading your BFFs/significant others profiles every ten minutes or so to make sure you haven’t missed anything. A slight feeling of nervousness comes over you as you open their profile.

5) You have a growing fear of being replaced and begin to feel lonely. You’re spending more time with someone else? You’re smiling back at her?? What does he have that I don’t?

4) You start overthinking things and making assumptions. “Nothing is bothering me, I’m completely fine. I mean why are we even dating if you let her look at you like that? Why don’t you go make out and get married and start a family with your new girlfriend if you like her that much”.
