An Open Letter To My “Friends With Feelings” Relationship (2)

People say the worst pain in life is a broken heart, and it’s true. Love is a beautiful feeling, it can burn you to the ground or lift you above the clouds. And my friend, we have burned each other to the ground. We kept dragging each other in and out of the fire. Call me naive, but I still firmly believe that beneath the rubble and ashes the love remains. But, in order to move on you must understand why you felt what you did and why you no longer need to feel that. I hope you look for a piece of me in everyone you meet within your future. Please, do not be afraid to cry as a tear is not a symbol of weakness, but a sign of a pure heart.

You’ll be alright though, because what we had was real and beautiful. Things don’t always work out, and it’s okay. Walk away with your head held high, because that was the last time. I can only hope the best for you, and I look forward to hearing about your future endeavors.

If you ever find yourself at my door wearing your best apology, just remember we almost made it.
