Chance The Rapper Crashes Rutgers Frat House Party

Last Friday, Chance The Rapper performed at Rutgers University which sold out in less than an hour. The small number of people that were lucky enough to score a ticket to his concert got to enjoy the show in the College Ave Gym.

The opening act, Kandace Springs, started off the show and set the mood for Chance The Rapper’s entrance. He put on an incredible show to kickoff the Rutgers 2014-2015 school year. But even those who were not lucky enough to get a ticket to the concert had a couple opportunities to get even closer to the “Chain Smoker” rapper.

Before the show, one of my personal good friends got to smoke with Chance The Rapper at her house. There are also rumors that he posted on Yik Yak to find other students that wanted to smoke.

After the show, Chance decided to make an appearance at Sigma Phi Epsilon to party, better known as Sig Ep to Rutgers students. Sig Ep just started living in that frat house this semester after Zeta Psi lost their house due to legal issues. Sig Ep got to start off one of their first huge parties of the semester with Chance The Rapper as a guest, impressive.

Third year student Laura Chapas said, “As soon as I heard Chance was at Sig Ep I dropped everything and went.”

But unfortunately some of the brothers of Sig Ep weren’t too excited about Chance’s appearance because things got out of hand really fast. The house was packed full of sweaty and drunk college kids and it came to be too much.

Sophomore student and brother of Sig Ep, Pete Jeremich, tweeted, “Chance The Rapper came to my fraternity tonight and somehow ruined the party.”

Shortly after Chance arrived and the party got blown up, the cops came to the frat house and things started to quiet down.

For a frat that just moved into one of the biggest frat houses at Rutgers, it’s quite an accomplishment to be able to say they got to party with Chance The Rapper at their house, even if it was just for a little bit.
