College Girl Posts Amazing Facebook Status That Will Open Up Your Eyes

Facebook. Ever since i’ve had my profile since 2004 over 10 years ago, i’ve seen it all. I’ve seen horrible statuses, to awesome statuses, to anything in between. I was bored casually scrolling through my newsfeed when I saw a lengthy paragraph as a Facebook status.

Whenever I see a super long status, I tend to want to read it. I mean hey…. might as well read it to see why there is a need for such a long post right? However, the amazing thing about this Facebook status is that it caught my eye. As we all know, there are so many posts on our newsfeeds daily, and it’s hard to really stop for a second without scrolling to actually want to read a certain post sometimes. This status is one of, if not THE best Facebook status you’ll ever read to motivate you in life. The status reads:

Life is a rollercoaster.. one moment you’re up so high and the next you’re crashing down and losing control. Wild, risky, and unpredictable. So often we think we have hit a plateau and we get far too comfortable and expect our life to just switch into cruise, going exactly where we want it to. But that’s not reality. We have to be able to teach ourselves to expect the unexpected. We must teach ourselves to be strong enough to dedicate a consistent effort to achieve our greatest goals, but we also must be strong enough to face our greatest failures, and acknowledge that we tried our best. Life brings us all up and it brings us all down, but we have to believe the inconsistent route we are traveling on has already been mapped out for us, believe you are going certain directions for a reason. There have been moments in my life where I truly believed I had nothing ahead, I felt empty and hopeless and lost. But there have also been recent moments in my life where I have felt like I had everything going right; my life felt complete and perfect. But I was naive and mistaken at both moments.

There is no such thing as perfection. Not in a person, in a relationship, in a family, in any life. Don’t seek it, don’t think you have attained it. You will only be setting yourself up for disappointment. Give yourself a reason to consistently work on improvement. Never let yourself settle, never let yourself do the minimum. If you can do something better then you should do something better. If you have always been an independent person, try showing showing someone or something attachment, give more of yourself for the benefit of another. If you are a dependent person, try letting yourself fall free and feel weak, and in turn you’ll realize you find yourself stronger. Don’t think you already know everything when there are so many lessons to learn. We are all striving for the same thing. We want to be happy, we want to determine our reason for being here. I can feel so lost sometimes, but one thing I’ve learned about my life, is that every time I am at my highest high or lowest low, I have never really been alone.

Someone has been there to applaud my success and someone has been there to pick me up off the ground. Whether they were my own blood, a trusted friend, or a completely unexpected stranger. Every person I have met and developed a relationship with in my life, has added a meaning to it. I met every one of you for a reason. Today I just want to say thank you to those people that have added reason to my life, the people that have built me up and the people that have broken me down. Thank you for changing my direction and showing me what I am capable of. It has made all the difference.
