A College Student’s Guide To Summer

Ahhh summer, a time of warmer weather, happier days, and crazy nights. Here are a few things you can do if you plan on spending your time in your hometown this summer.

5. Go outside- Winter is finally over so enjoy the weather. Say goodbye to Netflix and go sit outside! (Bring your laptop with you if you must) Go for a run, on a walk, or catch some rays. Anything is better than staying indoors on a nice day.

4. Exercise- Get moving. Run to get ice cream or run eight miles, it doesn’t matter to me. Run off all the alcohol you drank and drunk food you consumed this year, your body will love you for it.
3. Hangout with your friends- Summer vacation typically means all or most of your friends are going to be home for the summer. Take advantage of this! You rarely see each other throughout the school year so now is your time to reunite, catch up, and enjoy each other’s company.
2. Work- Get a summer job. What’s better than having some extra cash? Chances are everyone else you know is going to be working during the day too. If you suffer from FOMO don’t worry, social activities don’t usually take place until after 9 p.m. If you’re going to be bored during the day, at least get paid for it.
1. LIVE- You’re young and in college, make the most of it. Soon you won’t have the luxury of having summers off… unless you’re a stay at home mom or teacher, of course. Take advantage of this long three to four month break! Do things worth remembering, spend money on experiences, and live your life– cliché yes, but extremely insightful.
