Many of you are aware of a mid-life crisis. It’s a time when people in their early to mid-fifties decide to do weird things to make them feel young again like buy sports cars and get their belly-button pierced. Sorry for the visual. But what most people don’t realize is that a mid-college crisis can be just as terrifying. Luckily, there is a diagnosis for this rough patch, and I’m here to help you.

A mid-college crisis is that awful time in your life where you think you have completely failed at setting up your future. It seems like out of the blue you hate your major and need to jump into something else right away. It’s time to quiet this pesky little voice of doubt and get you back on the track to happiness.

No, I’m not a doctor, but as someone who has gotten herself and plenty of friends through this awkward time in her life, I now consider myself an expert. Welcome to my office.

The first step is to know that you are not alone. Almost everyone who has ever lasted more than two semesters of college has been where you are right now. College is a huge milestone, and you have every right to freak out when it comes to figuring out the rest of your life. (Take a deep breath in and out here.) But you need to relax! Freaking out won’t get you anywhere.next
