Potterheads and muggles alike mourned the passing of the beloved Alan Rickman on December 14th. In his memory here are 10, and yes it was nearly impossible to cut it down to 10, of the best moments from the Harry Potter series:
10) The moment Dobby became a free elf. Even when you found yourself occasionally frustrated with Dobby’s antics, I bet this moment still brought tears to your eyes.
9) The sorting hat that started it all. Even though you knew which house Harry was going to end up in you were still on the edge of your seat waiting for the hat to say it out loud.
8) If you want to know about werewolves turn to page 394. In my opinion, for whatever reason, this is one of the most iconic quotes from the series.
7) The wisdom from Dumbledore throughout the entire series.
6) The amazing book of the Half Blood Prince. I still want to take this copy for myself. Also, it made it about a million times better to find out that it was Professor Snape’s book all along.
