Why You Need To Chill About The Starbucks Cup
People have absolutely zero chill when it comes to the most mundane things. Learn why a simple Starbucks cup design started a completely unnecessary war.

CNN has already covered it. FOX News reported it as quickly as they could. MSNBC knows all the major details. A bombing? A new law? A presidential scandal? A natural disaster? No: a Starbucks cup.

Never in the history of the world has an everyday, ordinary object has caused so much chaos and be the trending topic. Pastors and Christians everywhere are ready for battle. No, they aren’t suiting up to fight in Iraq or Afghanistan: they’re freedom fighters for a new war that’s been waged – “The War on Christmas.” These type of “issues” beg the question on whether these are serious problems that the general public is facing or simple another case of a disgruntled individual making a big deal out of absolutely nothing. The Internet is a powerful tool and resource for information, but nowadays it seems to have become a breeding ground for individuals to complain about nearly everything that bothers them instead of focusing on real world issues.

The insanity began when Starbucks debuted their new line of cups for the holiday season – plain red with a green logo, straying away from their previous Starbucks cups that displayed holiday decor like snowflakes, ornaments, and other Christmas images. For people like pastor Joshua Feuerstein, the simple design was enough to drive him to post a video on Youtube, accusing the franchise of “hating Jesus.” His video went viral, rallying thousands of people to consider boycotting Starbucks and their lack of Christmas spirit.next
