Nice Guys vs. Bad Boys in College. The Major Differences You Need To Know.

James was known as the nicest guy at his college university. He was a caring, response seeking, polite guy that everyone loved. He was so kind hearted that he would even lie to people to make them feel better about themselves. His friend Chris was the most popular guy in college. He was a confident, ambitious, outspoken guy that attracted everyone’s attention when he was around. He would tell you straight up how he felt about any situation whether you liked it or not.

James and Chris had two different mentalities that created a huge difference in their relationship with people. James was friends with most of the girls in college but never built any attraction with any of them, while Chris would either hook up or date the same girls James was friends with. James was really jealous of Chris because he was hooking up with all the girls he had feelings for. After a couple months of this process happening over and over again, jealousy started to build up in James. This jealousy was so overwhelming that he told Chris he wanted to end their relationship as friends. This statement started a heated argument between James and Chris. The horrific argument ended James and Chris’s friendship. Chris ended up dating the hottest girl in the school while James transferred schools because he couldn’t stand to see Chris’s face.

The quote “Nice Guys finish last” has been floating around as long as I can remember. As I really took the time to ponder over this quote, I thought of some of the famous, so called, “Bad Boys” that finish first. Even though the term, “Bad Boy” may sound corny but there is nothing corny about these dudes. These were the first five guys that I thought of off the top of my head.

Bad Boy # 1) Charlie Sheen

Bad Boy # 2) Denzel Washington

Bad Boy # 3) Dan Bilzerian

Bad Boy # 4) YG

Bad Boy # 5) George Clooney

Though these men have different overall personalities, they have the same mentality, the mentality of a Bad Boy.  I know you may look at this list and say some of these guys are not Bad Boys but I beg to differ. I’ll get to the definition of a Bad Boy in a second.

Now take a second and think about the T.V Show Breaking Bad. When Walter White was the boring response seeking chemistry teacher that cared how people viewed him, us viewers didn’t like him as a character, but when he turned into a bad ass and started selling meth we all loved him. (By the way I’m not telling you to sell meth or do anything illegal but you get the point.)  Bad Boys are like a rollercoaster, they take people on an emotional ride with their behavior. People have a natural magnetic attraction to Bad Boys because Bad Boys demand that presence with how they carry themselves.

What is a Bad Boy?

Here are the traits of a Bad Boy:

1)      He doesn’t give a shit

2)      Never plays it safe

3)      He trusts his capabilities

4)      Puts himself in uncomfortable situations

5)      Has a competitive edge

6)      Show sincere fun and pure of intent

Being a Bad Boy doesn’t mean committing crimes or putting people down all the time. It is someone that is REAL and displays TRUE CONFIDENCE. People feel that energy from him and love to be around him.

Now let’s take a look at the traits of a Nice Guy:

1)      He cares too much what people think about him

2)      He always plays it safe

3)      Is not 100% confident in what he can accomplish

4)      Not himself around women

5)      Settles for ordinary outcomes

6)      Basically WAY TOO NICE!!!!

When Nice Guys are around people feel a different kind of vibe. People know they mean well, but can tell that these guys are not truly honest and not confident in what they believe in.

I’m not saying nice guys don’t get along with people or don’t date beautiful women because that is not 100% true, but what I am saying the Bad Boy excels WAY more in both of these categories than Nice Guys in general.

If you’re reading this I want you think about all your friends that are popular and see if they have Bad Boy traits. If you’re a guy reading this I want you to look in mirror and tell yourself what you see.
