Pi Beta Phi Mourns UCLA Member’s Horrendous Death

What comes to your mind when you think of September 21st? Lots of us are thinking about fall: the crisp leaves, sweater weather, combat boots, and of course, PSL’s. But, while you were thinking about the first day of fall, something very tragic happened.

“Andy had a contagious spirit and was a fearless giver. Andy was a friend to every person she met. She was always inclusive and there for everyone. More than anything, Andy wanted us to be ourselves … and most of all to never ever give up.”-Jacquie Mediros, Pi Beta Phi Chapter President

Andrea DelVesco, was a 21 year old who went by “Andy.” She studied Psychology at UCLA and like any college student, and she had her whole life ahead of her.

In June, she faced serious charges for the possession of drugs. Her court date was set up for September 25. Yet, she mysteriously passed away only four days before.

She was burned to death in a fire that occurred in a sorority house — so badly that her dead body is barely recognizable. Police are scouting out the murderer who took this young girl away from her friends and family way too soon.

It is obvious that Andy will be greatly missed by everybody’s life that she touched in her short 21 years.
