How Your Posse Is Just Like the TV Series “Friends”

You’ll binge-watch the classic 90s show at least once during your college career. And why not? “Friends” highlights the troubles and triumphs of twenty-somethings trying to survive and thrive in the Big Apple. Like the characters in “Friends,” you and your friend group may just see each other through the best and the worst, the easy and the hard, the odd and the blah. So frequent your Central Perk. Fight over apartments. Make memories that will turn into the best stories, because with a posse like yours, you’re sure to go the distance. Although it’s hard to say whether or not actual friend groups can reach that level of awesome, you may find that your close-knit group of pals resembles the “Friends” icons.

The Monica

At times, she seems to be the mother of your group. Always keeping tabs on everyone, nothing gets past her. Because of her perfectionist qualities, she has a tendency of being, well… controlling. And have you seen her apartment? It’s spotless, and her fridge is always fully stocked.

Although her obsessive compulsiveness drives you nuts at times, you can rest assured she always means well. And hey, if you ever need to organize a planner or organize notes for your class, she’ll be there with sticky notes, highlighters, and a label maker in hand!

When she’s not creating to-do lists or doing chores (for some reason, you’re beginning to think she actually enjoys housework), she’s chatting with you and the rest of your friends over a cup of coffee.

The Chandler

Are you in desperate need of dry humor? Chandler’s your man! Dubbed the cynic of your group, Chandler seems to have a never-ending sarcastic commentary.

He thinks he’s a lot funnier than he actually is. In fact, he constantly puts his foot in his mouth. His ill-timed humor is a part of his charm, though. At least, that’s what you let him think.

Although he can be abrasive, the Chandler of your group is undyingly loyal. Whether it’s to go with you to meet your estranged father or to attempt to “help you” with a jellyfish sting, you know he’ll always “be there for you when the rain starts to fall.”

The Rachel

Growing up, Rachel never really learned how to be independent. She came to college not knowing how to do laundry and never having experienced the joys of ramen. While some people go to college for B.S.’s and M.D.’s, Rachel was originally hoping to get her M.R.S. (haha) with a lawyer, dentist, or engineer, preferably.

Rachel’s hobbies include shopping, sifting through InStyle, and more shopping. Is she involved in Greek life? You bet.

Rachel may be ditzy and dramatic at times, but she is also quick-witted and charming. She has a tendency to be selfish, but when she thinks of others, she goes all out. When you’re looking for a good time, she’s your gal!
