The Reason People Can’t Help But Cheat On Their Partners May Have Something To Do With Genetics…

Infidelity is one of the most heartbreaking things that can happen to a person, even if it isn’t intended to be. Cheating in relationships has long been understood as a hurtful and sleazy thing to do, but people just can’t seem to help themselves. It seems you hear stories of people cheating all the time, and hopefully you’re horrified by them; it’s just a nasty thing to do.

Huffington Post

Especially when marriages come into play, cheating can become a messy habit. Data rom the Demographic Yearbooks of the United Nations has revealed that, between 1947 and 1992, approximately 93.1% of women and 91.8% of men get married prior to the age of 49. That’s a lot of people in relationships, so cheating is going to become prominent.

The Odyssey Online

More recent studies suggest that 85% of all Americans will eventually marry, so attitudes are definitely shifting but the majority of U.S. citizens will still end up tying the knot eventually. Current studies also indicate that between 20 and 40% of straight married men and between 20 and 25% of straight American women will engage in at least one extramarital affair.

Infidelity isn’t just restricted to the relative freeness of America, though. Cheating has been prevalent throughout the years and in various different societies, according to various pieces of literature or records. It was common with the ancient Greeks and Romans, pre-industrial Europeans, historical Japanese, Chinese and Hindus.

Therapy Tribe

Don’t rule out the Inuit of the artic, Kiukuru in Brazil’s jungles, the Kofyar of Nigeria, Turu of Tanzania and other tribal collections of people. Within these different cultures, there is understood to be different forms of infidelity. Sexual infidelity, for example, involves a sexual change without any romantic involvement.

It’s Cheating

Tattoos are really fun and really cool, but they’re not always viable. Eventually, that 30 Seconds to Mars ink you got done, perfectly complete with a detailed interpretation of Jared Leto’s face, just won’t be viable anymore. Maybe you’re trying to get a job at a car dealership or an elementary school- no one’s gonna want to see that smiling joker while you’re on the job at either of these places.

Lucy Hart Ink

Maybe that Bill Cosby tattoo doesn’t seem so appealing in light of recent events. You can’t show up to your next family function looking like you support an alleged rapist- that would just be in poor taste. In these kinds of situations, your only option is to get the tattoo removed. But how does one go about the process of removing their ink, and what are the costs?

Sugar Land Laser Tattoo Removal

The most popular method of tattoo removal is to use a laser beam which injects the skin with an intense light. This light will then break up the ink particle in the tattooed area, causing the unwanted design to fade. Anything that the laser doesn’t take care of will be outed by the body over time. Additionally, you don’t have to worry about the laser affecting the rest of your body because it only targets pigmented skin.

Another popular method called IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) uses small bursts of light to eradicate unwanted tattoos, instead of one concentrated beam that occurs in normal laser removal sessions. Either way, they do the same thing. But it’s not as easy as just going in for an hour and never worrying about your embarrassing markings ever again.

Men’s Health

If you want to completely get rid of a tat, you’ll have to attend multiple sessions of laser removal. The amount of sessions depends on the inked area and content of the tattoo; simple lines will be easier, but more colorful, detailed spots will take longer. Treatments are normally scheduled three weeks apart, so getting rid of a tattoo is almost as big of a commitment as getting one in the first place.

Cheating is the worst way to end a relationship, even worse than a bad fight or being ignored by someone. It’s painful for both parties, even though the cheater in the relationship doesn’t really have any room to talk. The unfortunate truth of the matter is that cheating happens frequently, both in established marriages and casual relationships.

People come up with all kinds of reasons as to why they cheat, but none are valid. Sandra Bullock’s ex-husband Jesse James admitted to cheating and tried to justify his actions saying “In general, both women and men cheat… It’s part of life.” I think that’s simply wrong and just reflects a poor attitude about relationships. It’s a mindful choice that someone makes, and leads to consequences he has to live with.

But if people have this attitude towards cheating, believing that it’s a natural part of life, how often does it happen? Exact numbers are difficult to pinpoint since there’s not a real database of cases of infidelity. Even then, you’d still have to account for cheating that occurs in unmarried relationships. Experts, however, estimate that about 25% of all men and 14% of all women will cheat on a relationship at least once in his or her lifetime.

Mark Manson

These are just samples taken from studies, not accounting for homosexual relationships. Also, if someone’s willing to lie to their partner about cheating, why wouldn’t she also lie to the researcher who’s interviewing her about it? Still, though, 25% is a lot, and this gap between men and women in terms of likeliness to cheat is shrinking.

Understanding Relationships

Some studies even suggest that some women have genes that predispose them to want to act unfaithful towards their partners. “The gender gap in adultery is closing, and it’s not just about opportunity and possibility,” says renowned relationship book author Helen Fisher, PhD. “But it is about choice. Women now are more aware of the alternatives to monogamy and more inclined to demand to have all their needs met.”

You know what was one subject that I wish we could have covered in any science class growing up in school? Sleep science. If you really think about it, the subject itself is appropriate for any age, and I would have absolutely volunteered for any kind of experiment.

Mk Knowledge Builders

Let me clarify, first off, YES there is such a thing as sleep science. I mean why not!? It is a phenomenon don’t you think? Sleep is the single greatest thing I think we as human can experience. Yes, I think it is better than experiencing love, because sleep does not break your heart.

Dreams

Plus it’s like time you can’t account for. We need sleep, we need it so badly, if you feel you physically can’t function due to lack of sleep you are excused for the day. So of course there is a science to it, we need to understand this essential part of our well beings.

Despite how much has already been learned about what happens to our bodies when we sleep, there is one aspect of it all that still baffles scientists and has researchers working around the clock.

Steemit

They are all wondering, probably just like you and I, what happens to our brains when we sleep? Well, one short answer is we dream, and okay you’re not technically wrong, but this marvel just goes to show the intense power our brains hold.

So does that mean that our brains need dreaming to do whatever it is they do while our bodies rest? It’s as close to alien as we get and there is still so much to be understood.
