7 Reasons to Not Get Into a Relationship Your Freshman Year
Only fools rush into love, especially during the early years of college. Check out these 7 reasons why not to get into a relationship your freshman year.

Nothing is as time consuming as getting into a relationship, especially during your first year of college. Everything is new as you embark into the first real phase of adulthood that is meant for having fun and discovering yourself. Going to college for the first time is all about meeting new people, taking interesting classes, and basically living on your own. It’s also a great time to date people as you learn what type of person you are in a relationship and what you’re seeking in a partner. Don’t mess this up by getting into a serious with someone right off the bat – not only are you holding yourself back but you may not even be emotionally ready for it.

Here are 7 reasons to not get into a serious relationship your freshman year of college:

7.) Emotional Toll: Beginning college is already emotional enough: leaving behind your family and friends, living in a new place surrounded by new people, taking on larger responsibilities, all the while trying to keep your head above water. Adding a dating relationship on top of it all could just send you over the edge. And, a terrible break up? Just don’t even go there. Keep your emotions and heart in tact for now, give yourself some time to adjust.

6.) You’re Young!: There is plenty of time for the romantic, falling in love fantasy to occur. I’ll repeat it a lot: college (especially your freshman year) should be about YOU. Who will you be? What will you do? Where will you go? Live YOUR life without having to match it up to someone else’s schedule and wants.
