Whether searching for your roommate on your college’s search, going onto Roomsurf, or even the facebook for your university, finding a roommate has become like Tinder. Most people would prefer to know their roommate walking into college instead of checking off the most dreadful three words on the rooming application…
Going in blind.
So future college freshman, learn how it is done. If you have been through the intense roommate search before, reminisce.

Step One: Discovering More of Who You Will Be In College
Just like dating, you find a lot of frogs before you meet your prince. So, you fill out the surveys on different websites like www.Roomsurf.com, answering those clichéd questions.
Do you drink?
Do you smoke?
How close do you want to be?
Are guests okay?
It is kind of like a virtual online date. Or, you post a clichéd profile to the University’s Facebook/Twitter page or portal.
“Hi, I am so and so. I love to go out and have a good time and you will see me rocking it at the parties. But, I also like to stay in and study or watch Netflix. Who has watched Orange Is The New Black? It’s the bomb! Well anyway my major is blah blah blah, and message me if you’re interested.”

Step Two: Sending Out Messages and Responding To The Potentials
And just like Tinder again. “Do I message him first? Or do I wait and play hard to get?”
The biggest dilemma. What do I say? Should I be blunt and tell her who I am and what I am looking for or just say hi?
After you send the message, you wait for the response. After they respond, you could tell, are they love at first sight, AKA can I live with them for a year?
