Why Being Sick At College Is The Worst EVER

Everyone gets sick at college. Especially in the first year when so much change and stress and dorm nastiness is surrounding you. I just feel like being sick at college is ten times worse than anything else.

You still have to walk to all your classes. You can’t just get “checked out” by the nurse or your parents and have all your work sent to you. You have to trudge through and sit in class and attempt to absorb some info.

You don’t have anyone to baby you. When most of us were sick, our moms and dads would come take care of us. They would make us soup and bring us medicine. Being sick will make you want to visit home real quick just to get that mommy daddy loving.

You have the ever strugglesome question of: do I go out? You don’t wanna miss out on a night filled with partying, but your body is screaming for your bed and some comfy clothes. So you either suck it up and go party hoping that you’ll be so distracted you won’t feel sick, or you give in and go turn on that last season on netflix.

You have to deal with everyone giving you looks. Whether it’s a get away from you sick child look or a you poor thing I feel your pain look, you have to deal with them. My favorite though is when someone gives you the pity look and then they ask: OMG, are you sick? Like wow good one Sherlock, duh I’m sick!

Either way, my advice is to load up on medicine, drink tons of water, and take one weekend off because you’re body needs the rest. You can just make up for it next weekend when you feel brand new!
