Why All Students Should Study Abroad

Studying abroad is something that can’t even be put into words. It truly is a life changing experience (not to mention it’s a group of college kids in another country able to do anything they want; what’s not to like?). Granted, depending on where you go to school, going abroad may cost a pretty penny but the experience is absolutely priceless.

Also, there are a ton of scholarships available. Plus you learn so much more than what your lecturers are talking about in class. Going abroad tests your independence, adaptability, you get to soak up new cultures, and explore the world outside of what you know.

Another plus of going abroad is that it’s something you can put on your resume (and it’ll definitely give you some perks). Emphasizing on the fact that you went abroad proves to employers that you are independent, mature enough to go live in another country, it proves your adaptability and willingness to try new unfamiliar things, and it provides experience that students who stay in the US may never get. Also, studying abroad can set you up for international internships or work if that’s what you’re interested in.

Now, aside from the education and resume booster of going abroad, another great thing about it is that the US is the only country with a 21 year old drinking age. Going abroad pretty much guarantees that you can legally drink (if you can’t already) and what’s not to like about that?! In the end going abroad is a fun, exciting, and life changing experience.

All college students should do it without a doubt or at least look into it. The memories are unforgettable!
