The 12 Perks Of Going To A Small College

I’m sure you’ve heard all the down sides of going to a small college, but there are definitely some perks.

1. Your professors know who you are

2. Walking to class takes under 10 minutes

3. You have a higher chance of seeing people you know on the way to class (This could be seen as both good and bad)

4. You actually recognize people at parties

5. You associate the people you don’t know as well with what sports team they’re on…

                    Friend: Do you know Mike?

                     You: No…

Friend: He plays (Insert sport here)

                     You: OH I know him!

6. The dining hall staff knows you who you are (Shoutout to Larry)

7. You’re bound to know at least one person in each class

8. Chances are you’re friends with that kid who scored the winning goal/touchdown at a sporting event

9. Professors actually teach your classes, not TA’s

10. There’s a sense of community because you know so many people

11. You know exactly who is a senior, junior, sophomore, and freshman

(Mainly freshmen because the first week they all wear their lanyards around their necks)

12. There’s a 99.9% chance you’ll know who your friends are talking about during the Sunday morning brunch gossip sesh… because helllllo it’s a small school where everyone knows everyone!

I’m just a student at St. John Fisher College who loves writing and chocolate chip cookies.
