The man had a phone from the fraternity that he was supposed to use to field calls for rides that night, but somebody took the phone away.
“The active brothers told him he was not going to get the phone back unless he came inside their apartment to hang out and have a few drinks,” the report said. “… He went inside the apartment, and they were all very drunk and continued to insist that he party with them and drink with them.”
The other members insisted he stay and refused to return the phone when the man said he wanted to go, the report said.
That’s when another fraternity brother came out of the backroom with a blindfold to put on the man.
The man was told to “assume the position” – meaning he should do a plank, a core exercise where a person holds himself up on his elbows and toes.
