Lil Wayne is set to make is mark in the sports world, creating a sports agency business as a subsidiary of Young Money Entertainment. Wayne hopes to kick off (pun intended) his success with Portugal’s soccer phenom, Christiano Ronaldo.
We’re told Weezy’s company will be working with PolarisSports—which is affiliated with the CAA agency and GestiFute—through which Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes operates.
Our sources tell us Wayne’s company will handle Ronaldo’s sports management affairs in the United States—everything from branding to marketing and endorsement deals. Even modeling.
This December, a Forbes correspondent actually uncovered that Weezy did in fact file a trademark for “Visionaire Sports Group”. It is very well possible that this name could be the face of Young Money’s new sports agency.
Rap Sensation Jay Z who has had major success with Roc Nation Sports, has had successful deals with the likes of Kevin Durant and Robinson Cano. It is possible that Lil Wayne may be on to something here.
