What It’s Like To Be A Non-Partier in College (2)

1. I’m not a heavy drinker. I don’t even like the smell of alcohol that much.

Since I don’t like crowds, dancing or alcohol I don’t see the need to going to a college party. Yeah, I know I sound like a nerd or whatever, but it’s just something I don’t like to do no matter how many times my roommates tell me to come with them.

Even if I did want to go to a party I wouldn’t be dressed up to par. I didn’t bring any party clothes to college with me, I brought comfortable clothes. I know people wear heels and dresses to class every now and then and I’m not talking about business attire I’m talking about a short black dress and stilettos. I honestly don’t know if they just didn’t make if home after the party and came straight to class or they just wanted to show their “assets” all day.

I’m sure I’m not the only college student who doesn’t go to parties, at least I hope not. Another reason why I don’t like to party is because I don’t want to end up messing up my priorities. I know I sound like an older person, but I’m just one of those people to focus on important things or things that will help me rather than hinder me in school especially as a freshman. I see some of my friends struggling right now, and they’re extreme party goers. They go to parties all night and end up coming back the next morning tired and drunk as hell knowing they got an 8a.m. class. I don’t want to end up like that, therefore I don’t want to start partying.

I know eventually I will want to attend a party and experience that great feeling that my party loving roommates feel every time they come back from a party. Hopefully by that time I will be a little more outgoing and “claustrophobic”. Like everyone says, it’s best to experience the college life while you’re there or else you’ll regret it.
