10 Lessons Friday Night Lights Walked You Through

From beginning to end, Friday Night Lights pulls on the heartstrings, making it one of the best series in cinematic history. That may or may not be a little far-fetched; I will let you decide that. Either way, you cannot argue that you did not learn something from this show. Every character, from Smash William’s mother to Saracen’s grandma, teaches some lesson that hits home.

After watching the series two times through (thank God for Netflix), here are a few lessons I learned from the characters of FNL.

Realize what you deserve.

“You know, so many times, I would have loved to hear those words come out of your mouth. God, I’d love to say yes, but I’d hate myself for it. I’d be a hypocrite, you know? I guess timing is everything.” – Tyra Collette

Realize a loss is not the end of the world.

“Every man at some point in his life is going to lose a battle. He is going to fight and he is going to lose. But what makes him a man is at the midst of that battle, he does not lose himself.” – Coach Eric Taylor

Wear your heart on your sleeve (for some people).

“Well, you’re going to win, or you’re going to lose. Either way, the sun’s going to come up the next morning.” – Tami Taylor
