15 Unforeseen Perks About Attending Syracuse University

10) However, you know that the cold weather brings people together and creates a closer campus community.

Winter at SU is a time to make close friends because you’re forced to make plans. Around January, you find yourself spending more time indoors with your floormates/roommates. Additionally, it’s a time to mutually survive the cold together. I know I’ve made many a friend commiserating with others on a FREEZING walk home from DJ’s.

9) You truly have the ability to literally get anything you need on Marshall Street… Even if it seems impossible, you can make it happen.

Food & costume shopping at CVS? Drunk Acrop? Bars? Piercings/tattoos? And let’s not forget Garbo’s for literally ALL of your beauty needs, no matter how drastic? (Nails, tanning, waxing, & hair dyed and cut? Might as well while I’m down here…)

8) Of course, if you have transportation off campus, you can access the surprisingly amazing city of Syracuse.

Really I’m just talking about the food here… The Armory in all of it’s glory and particularly Boeheim’s favorite, Wegmans.

7) You’ve learned a thing or two about the animal kingdom because what do you mean BLACK SQUIRRELS exist?

Seriously, what? These things are scary. And they’re everywhere.

6) Every year, you get to look forward to all of the awesome traditions SU has to offer.

Juice Jam, Mayfest, University Union concerts and other huge events give each semester something additional to look forward to (aside from every other Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and SundayMondayWednesday night)
