5 Things My Parents Have Taught Me That Are True

Momma and Daddy know best is often the truest statement. We’ve all been there, rolling our eyes at them for the ridiculous rules or advice they are dishing out to us, but more often than not, they are right.

Yes, I know that sometimes you still fall back into the habit of how ridiculous this sounds, but would you rather study a little bit or drown in student loans the rest of your life?

4. Never go out with a guy who does not meet you at the door

Thank you, Daddy, for never letting me near the door when a boy honked his horn or texted me to notify me he was in the driveway. Although you may have been in a major rush or you were just friends, you deserve better. He has time to walk a few feet to meet you at your front door.

3. There are so many other fish in the sea

Remember how it felt when you broke it off with your high school sweetheart? Your heart was broken, and you were not sure you were going to survive. Thank you for not letting me crawl back, because I am stronger than that.

2. You are allowed to have your own opinion

I am eternally grateful that my parents never forced me to have the same beliefs and views as them. The world would never change if every child followed their parents every belief.

1. In all you do, honor your Father.

Lastly, thank you Mom and Dad for teaching me that the outcome is better every single time when your main goal is to glorify the Kingdom.
