Labor Day weekend is filled with hundreds of girls walking around campus dressed to impress the six national sororities on campus- Gamma Phi Beta, Alpha Delta Pi, Alpha Gamma Delta, Alpha Xi Delta, Phi Sigma Sigma, and Alpha Omicron Pi. Rush weekend begins on Friday night where all the girls attend all the six national sororities’ parties to get a feel for what they are looking for in a sisterhood. Every day the girls get call backs based on what sororities thought they were looking for in their chapters. The PNM’s- also known as potential new members also drop sororities that they believe aren’t a good fit for them. The last day, Monday is Pref and Bid Day, where each of the girls preference their favorite sorority, then later that day they find out if they got into their dream sisterhood! Monday night all the PNM’s meet in the ballroom and they all gather around and open an envelope to reveal if they got into the sorority they desired. This is a time full of many screams and hugs, and also many happy new pledges! The now new pledges of 2014 get to meet their new sisterhood that will now be their home away from home! Congratulations to all the new pledges of Fall 2014!
