A former TV news reporter fatally shot two ex-colleagues Wednesday morning during a live broadcast — and then posted his own videos of the killings on social media before taking his own life.
The shooter, Vester Lee Flanagan II — who went by Bryce Williams on air — fatally shot himself shortly before noon after a five-hour manhunt, police said. He was pronounced dead at 1:26 p.m.
Before that, he ranted about the victims on Twitter and uploaded a horrifying video he filmed of the shooting. He also sent a national news network a 23-page fax explaining his actions, saying they were motivated by the mass shooting at a black church in Charleston, S.C. in June.
