The entire song, Dear John, is pretty much a masterpiece in itself, but this part alone should have you popping out of the sunroof. This song makes you angry, and whoever you dedicated the song to is, you hate him. And you realize when you listen to this song, how much it sucks to be him and how damn cool it is to be you.

Glance dramatically in the rearview mirror, punch at your steering wheel, and belt this part while thinking about the bitches you knew in high school.

You probably realized in that moment, as I know I did, that it’s okay to miss things that you don’t want anymore. It doesn’t matter when he drunk-dials you or posts pictures with his new girlfriend, even if a part of you winces, because you trust that you’re doing this to better yourself. So you listen to this song in the rain and pretend you’re in a music video and you feel like moving on with your damn life.

There’s a 99.9% chance that you were crying by this point in the song, and this line hit you a lot harder than you expected. Taylor made you realize how important it was to take the high road and let people that you love go simply because you love them.
