10 Struggles of Losing Your Voice (2)

5. You drink tea with honey like there’s no tomorrow. It’s soothing and helps your throat, but you’re in the restroom basically every hour.

4. You avoid chocolate and dairy products. Some people think this doesn’t work, but singers live by this rule.

3. You can only talk so loud because the louder you try to speak the quieter you actually sound. It strains your voice to speak too loud and normally when you speak louder your voice comes out stronger, but when you lose your voice the louder you try to talk the quieter it comes out.

2. You become an easy target for jokes. People will either joke about how squeaky you sound, how manly/girly you sound, or how they can’t understand a word you’re saying. Other times they just laugh because they find watching you struggle funny.

1. You should just permanently walk around with something to write down what you want to say. If you’ve ever seen the episode of Hannah Montana where Miley loses her voice then you know just how wrong this can turn out, but it doesn’t hurt to try.
