2. Skipping one class=missing out on an entire chapter.

In case you haven’t figured it out by now, quarters are short and they go by fast. So when some classes only meet twice a week, there aren’t physically enough hours to spend reiterating topics. This means that you can expect to be learning something completely new pretty much every class meeting. So missing a class really isn’t an option unless you plan on cutting your losses and praying that the material from that day isn’t worth too much on the final.

1. Expect a quiz or midterm every week.

If you’re lucky, you won’t have your first quiz until week 3. But after that you will most definitely find yourself studying for your first midterm the next week, then another quiz the week after that, then the second midterm and so on and so forth.
