10 Things You Should Stop Wasting Your Meal Points On

There comes a time every semester when we start to run low on our meal points, but for some reason we can’t bring ourselves to stop wasting money on things we know that we don’t really need. Eventually we end up with no money at all and we immediately start to regret our poor finance skills, but at the time it didn’t really matter. All that mattered was how much you wanted that chocolate bar or that bag of chips. If you’re one of those people then you should definitely stop wasting your meal points on these ten things.

10. Late night meals If you’re like me then you probably end up getting food in the middle of the night because your friends invite you to get food with them. You say you’re not hungry but when you actually walk into the building you find yourself buying food whether it’s a full meal or a simple brownie sundae. You may think it doesn’t make that big of a difference but all those late night meals will add up by the end of the semester.

9. Chips The amount of times you’ve bought chips just because you felt like it could probably add up to buy you a couple of full meals. It may not seem like that big of a deal when you’re buying them, but at the end of the semester when you’re running around asking people with extra points to buy your food, you’ll realize just how much money you probably could’ve saved.

8. Starbucks Let’s be honest – Starbucks is delicious. You know how much you love to grab a cup of it before class, but you also know how much money it’s wasting every time you do it and yet you still can’t seem to stop. It’d be a lot cheaper to just buy a Keurig, but you just can’t convince yourself to give up your grande white chocolate mocha every day.

7. Candy Sometimes you just get random cravings for candy so you find yourself walking to the nearest place on campus that sells it and buying as much as your heart desires. It’s not until you’re running out of meal points that you realize how much money you’ve actually spent just because you had a craving.

6. Gum You could probably buy this a lot cheaper from Target or the nearest gas station. It’s convenient to get it from your campus because you don’t have to go far for it, but at the same time you’re just spending a lot more money on something that’ll probably be gone within minutes when the people around you start asking for a piece.
