10 Valuable Lessons from How I Met Your Mother (2)

8.) Make Every Moment LEGENDARY: Barney Stinson may have been quite controversial over many of his habits, however, he’s not wrong in the idea of living life to the fullest. Legendary may mean something different among various people, but the common factors are meaningful and unforgettable. Spend your moments with the people you love (and who love you) the most in this world. Even in the small things, there is a way to make them matter. It’s amazing how things that seem insignificant, like one test grade or opening a door for someone, can actually be significant in the big picture. You never know what someone’s day has been like, or how any and all of your choices can affect your future. Choose to be the light in this world; do something nice, be diligent, build relationships. Live a life that matters. What will you choose?

7.) Friends = Family: The friends you make in college are usually the most important and long lasting friendships you will make in your lifetime. They become your family (along with the family you already have). You look out for each other, you compromise, you love  unconditionally. It is incredible how connected I became in just my first few months of college. If you seek it, you will find it. I was sincerely blessed to have found the girls I call my sisters, and one I sometimes refer to as mom. There are guys in my life I consider my brothers, guys I know I can count on for anything. These are the friends who matter, and who will have your back no matter what.
