17 Aspects of College People Don’t Tell You About (3)

8. Don’t worry so much about the freshman 15- Definitely easier said than done, but whether you gain some or not, what matters most is how you feel about yourself. Learn to let go of the “perfect image” of yourself because you already are perfect.

7. Skipping a few classes will be needed- Yes, you’re paying a lot for college, but that doesn’t mean you’re not allowed to get sick or sleep in when your body really needs it. Try not to skip something important, but don’t beat yourself up for needing a break.

6. Friends don’t come so easy- After countless years of just having friends you never really had to try to be friends with, it’s a big shock when you actually have to put yourself out there to people in your classes, neighbors, etc

.

5. Don’t just do activities because “they look good”- A big part of college is enjoying yourself and you will definitely not do that if you spend all of your extra time with clubs/sports that you are only doing for future employers. This is your chance to try things you never thought you could do in high school

.

4. You will eat alone- Don’t be embarrassed because everyone will at different points, but if you feel you’re alone more than you’d like then reach out to someone, it’s that simple, really.
