There’s just something about a college campus, isn’t there?  Even the plainest ones have a sense of regal beauty about them, but when you see the truly gorgeous ones, there really is something magical about that.  The old, brick buildings, the massive trees, the history stamped on every plaque and every statue…  Yes, college campuses all have their own beauty about them, but some are even more picturesque than others.

Placing your college campus on what appears to be the set for a “Beautiful fishing locations” calendar just seems like cheating.  I guess it’s not their fault Maine is just chock full of picturesque coastlines.

19. The University of Minnesota.

Not only is it located in the Twin Cities, which is ranked as one of the best metropolitan areas of the United States, the U of M also has its own gorgeous campus with a futuristic looking art museum and some of those traditional old brick buildings that make a college a college.

18. Sweet Briar College.

Come on, it’s called Sweet Briar college so you know it’s going to be beautiful.  This campus rests near the famed Blue Ridge Mountains which contribute to the visual attractiveness of the college.

17. University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill.

UNC is always mentioned when we’re talking about college basketball and fierce team rivalries, but we would do the school a disservice not to mention it’s lovely campus.  Its carefully maintained grounds boast a number of beautiful structures, including the Old Well, a rotunda based on the Temple of Love from Versailles.
